What is an emotional intelligence course?
An emotional intelligence course teaches professionals how to recognize, understand and manage their own emotions while responding effectively to others. In the workplace, emotional intelligence improves communication, leadership, conflict resolution and team performance. This program provides practical tools to strengthen self-awareness, empathy and relationship management.
My team struggles with communication and conflict. Can emotional intelligence training help?
Yes. Many workplace conflicts stem from low emotional awareness, reactive communication, or misunderstandings. Emotional intelligence training helps employees recognize emotional triggers, improve listening skills and respond constructively instead of defensively. This leads to stronger collaboration, fewer escalations and better team performance.
Who should attend emotional intelligence training?
This emotional intelligence training is ideal for managers, supervisors, team leaders and employees who want to improve communication, reduce conflict and build stronger professional relationships. It is especially valuable for those responsible for leading or influencing others.
What professional credits does the course earn, and are there prerequisites?
Both formats earn 1.2 IACET CEUs, 12 PMI Talent Triangle PDUs in Power Skills, 12 Professional Maintenance Units toward the AMA Certified Professional in Management® credential, 12 CLPs, and 12 HRCI recertification credits toward PHR and SPHR, since the course has met HRCI's criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.
How long is the course, and what formats and prices are offered?
The course runs two consecutive days, in person in New York, Dallas, Arlington/Washington, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco or live online in two full-day sessions. It can also be delivered at your company location. The program fee is $2,795 for non-members and $2,545 for AMA Members in either public format, and GSA pricing is available.
