Cheryl F. Swans.

Cheryl F. Swans, a seasoned internal consultant, leveraged her expertise for enterprise-wide initiatives ranging from implementing an inclusive diversity strategy, developing a frontline manager cohort program, to implementing learning solutions to ensure sellers remain “best in class.” She has over 20 years’ experience as a competency-based learning and change management practitioner with a focus on developing managers/leaders acting as an internal consultant to support organizational change initiatives, engagement and cultural assessments and building high performance teams. She has worked with clients across a variety of industries, providing practical real-world consult through insight and an integrated approach to achieving strategic goals.

At Visa Inc, Cheryl was involved in the design, implementation and delivery of several high-profile learning initiatives. She is especially proud of her involvement in the assessment, design, development and delivery of three corporate-wide leadership development programs for emerging, new and mid-level leaders. As a learning and development manager and program director, she was intimately involved in determining each program’s strategic objectives, pre/post assessments, instructional design, implementation and delivery. Prior to joining Visa Inc, Cheryl spent many years in the IT field as both a programmer and technical trainer. She transitioned to learning and development and change management when she recognized a distinct difference between employees who achieved success within the culture and those who struggled. She researched and studied organizational culture, human behavior during change, communicating effectively and adult learning theory, which led her to her current role.

She holds a master’s degree in organizational development and knowledge management (George Mason University), is a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner, a Myers-Briggs Facilitator, PDIs 360 Leadership Assessment Advisor, and a Crucial Conversations Facilitator. She is currently studying for the Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM) and Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) certifications.

Cheryl enjoys traveling both nationally and internationally to explore different cultures, people and cuisine. From 2011–2012, she was an expatriate based in London, United Kingdom where she consulted with internal clients who were based throughout the Channel Islands, Moscow, the UAE and Asia-Pacific. She also enjoys spending time with her family (both human and animal) and getting her hands dirty with home improvement projects and animal rights causes.
