William A. Cohen currently serves as president of the Institute of Leader Arts, which specializes in education, training, and motivation for the practice of extraordinary leadership. He gives speeches, seminars, and workshops for major clients around the world, including the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the Air War College, the FBI Academy, all four branches of the United States Armed Services, and corporations from Boeing to The Cheesecake Factory. Bill Cohen credits much of his success to his greatest and most famous teacher, the "Father of Management," Peter F. Drucker. In 1975, Bill was among the first students in Peter Drucker's Executive Ph.D. program at what was then Claremont Graduate School and is now The Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University. Reflecting on the impact of what he learned from Drucker inspired Cohen to write A CLASS WITH DRUCKER: The Lost Lessons of the World's Greatest Management Teacher (AMACOM 2007). "The lessons I learned from Peter were extraordinary and significant to my thinking and practice, not just of management, but of life," he says.

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Cohen earned his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1967 and attained his Ph.D. in management in 1979. Cohen rose to the rank of major general in the United States Air Force Reserve while building an impressive career in academia. He served as a full professor at California State University, Los Angeles, an adjunct professor at his alma mater, Claremont Graduate School, and a university president. His many accolades and honors include the Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge George Washington Honor Medal for Excellence in Economic Education and the California State University Los Angeles Statewide Outstanding Professor Award. In 1999, he was named one of four "Great Teachers in Marketing," selected from nominees around the world by the Academy of Marketing Science. In 2002, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the International Academy for Integration of Science and Business in Moscow, Russia.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Bill Cohen lives in Pasadena, California.
