Would be nice to have more verbal communication with instructors. Question and answer sessions.
I didnt actually learn anything from this course aside from what other people vote on various leadership styles.
The technology really hindered parts of the training. Videos would not work and we wasted alot of time trouble shooting videos and powerpoint issues.
Very good instructor led course. Very good examples were presented with videos. Good real-life examples.
Methodology of the program, experience of the course leader, experience with the equipment and updating of information.
It was helpful and I learned many new aspects and skills required for managing direct reports and communicate with my supervisors too.
Pam was very thorough in her delivery of the information. I was very impressed with Pam's in-depth knowledge and that she had the ability to delve into questions from participants and speak to and give guidance. (There was never any surface answer, she gave in-depth answers with examples.) VERY HELPFUL!
Pam was excellent. My colleague had this same training with a male trainer in Denver in December and was highly disappointed so I was skeptical that it would be worth 3 full days of my time. I am so glad I decided to come because I could have spent another week with Pam!
The class was good, the instructor was very knowledgeable and keeps things entertaining.
This course was organized well and the context flowed very naturally. I enjoyed all the honest and open discussions and had many "a-ha!" moments. Most importantly, I walked away with tangible concepts that I can put into use daily.
Material was relevant and was presented in an interesting and thought provoking manner.
Very informative, well-led, and well-put together. Everyone from the trainer to the front-desk staff was immensely helpful and seemed to genuinely care about the attendees.
Very nice class involvement and team exercises. Really got the point across.
The training provided valuable resources for improving my skills as a manager.
Larry's energy and enthusiasm for the subject really drove a great class, and kept everyone engaged.
Anyone that will manage people should go through this class. It provides an excellent guideline for excelling at the management process.
Larry was a great instructor, look forward to attending more of his classes in the future.
Desiree was a very good and engaging instructor.
A lot of usable information and training.
I thought that the course was very well put together, and especially found it interesting how the material allowed me to see patterns in my own behaviors that could be improved.
Rafi was knowledgeable and used real life experiences to illustrate the concepts introduced in the workshop. He was kind and considerate presenter and a good listener.
Very good course. I learned a great deal about management.
She was so great!
Excellent instructor. Loved the class
Very good points conveyed; a lot of useful information for me to use going forward.
The course contained some very practical and relevant information, and the instructor was very well versed in the subject matter and very helpful in answering questions and providing additional information
Excellent course that highlighted useful theories and tools for new managers to utilize. The instructor clearly and effectively explained how to best use the knowledge we learned in the real world, using plenty of relevant examples and exercises.
There was a lot of information to cover, but the instructor made sure that everyone understood fully before moving on. The information provided was very enlightening and very practical for situations faced today. The break-out sessions really helped to put the theories learnt into practice.
Great class, very applicable.
I felt the class was good but geared more to larger companies I was able to learn some new techniques which I will implement and see. Being a union shop bound by contractual employee duties I am limited on what can be implemented but the knowledge will help.
Content was good. Time management drifted...some activities could have been more beneficial..others were hurried through.
I thought the class was very helpful and I really learned a lot.
The seminar was good -- lots of good information, and practical applications which were helpful.
The smaller class size (6 people) was great for engaging all participants in each and every discussion, allowing people to make real world connections to the material with issues and patterns they had seen in their teams.
The class was very informative. Only thing i can say was that there was enough technical difficulties that it was a hinderance sometimes.
Overall I learned to tips and tricks and how to go about approaching topics with my team.
The small class size and knowledgeable instructor made for an enjoyable and educational 3 days. I especially appreciated the opportunity to calibrate what I already know and don't yet know about being a manager.
This was a tremendous course, I learned so much from Mike.
Presenter was excellent. I loved the time we had to do role plays. This was really helpful in allowing me and the other attendees to work out the different concepts that were presented.
This class was an excellent class. It is full of useful information and studies. The class is interactive making it interesting and easy to remember and practice what you have learned. I would definitely recommend this class for anyone in management.
I think the training was very helpful and the instructor was great. I took a lot of information from the class that I can't wait to start implementing on my team. We did have some technical difficulties one day but they were quick to get a replacement in to finish the class.
Very informative and helpful. MICHAEL was very pleasant and answered any questions we had
WOW! What a much needed re-set button! This class was just what I needed to ease the anxiety of becoming a new manager. I learned tools that will not only help with me in my new position but in all facets of my life. My instructor Diana Schakman provided a learning atmosphere that was interesting and informative. KUDOS AMA!
Thu Hlaing Min K.
The course was intesting and the trainer was excellentThe only set back was that books could not be purchase while course was in effect which was the facility not the instructor.
Well structured good content, especially works well while performing the exercises and understand all perspectives
The instructor did a wonderful job leading this training. Susan covered the content in a highly engaging way through a combination lectures, role-playing exercises, and group discussions.
I thought the material covered was good, but felt it was too focused on people management. Covering other aspects of management such as time management, financial management, growing the business, dealing with customers/clients, etc. would have been helpful.
High marks for Diana. Tremendous instructor. Lots of great material in the class, too.
I think the course was really informative. I would've liked to here a little more real life scenarios or how the instructor used the practices in her career.
This was a very good course.
The instructor was extremely interactive and very well practiced. He brought a wealth of real world experienced combined with a business philosophy and weaved them together in a way that I hadn't seen before in a seminar. Harry was far and away the best Management/Communications instructor I've ever studied under. He was relate-able and genuine and I kept the entire class engaged and eager for more. The content of the class was about what I expected but it was led in a refreshing way and allowed me to reconsider some of the ways I could lead better and reinforced some ways that I am currently leading.
The instructor Harry was very interactive and great to learn from very helpful in each module.
Harry was very knowledgeable - the course was discussion-based, which I appreciate. I don't like PowerPoint slide driven seminars, and I appreciated the small-group and larger-group discussions. Harry has extensive knowledge and experience on improvement managers, and I felt as though I was in good hands.
Overall I would say that the course was too long. The first day was basic common sense and a waste of time. The pace was too slow and could have been covered in 2 days tops. The moderator painfully spent every modual asking for every persons input, instead of more actively leading & teaching the class. The Situational learning content was excellent, more time spent on this would have been preferred. E.g. walking through the correct answers to the homework so we can learn from the examples would have been beneficial
It was a very insightful undertaking. Not only I was exposed to different perspectives, given that there were 6 of us from same company, we were able to bond by learning about each other's experiences.
Instructor was very good and did a great job keeping everyone engaged
Proctor did a great job engaging everyone. I felt like I can take these skills and apply them to my work place
Rafi is a very good instructor and was able to make our very small group open up and share
This training was very informative and gave me several tools that I will be able to utilize at my facility.
Practical, well-taught material and good instructor.
Great class James was AWESOME !
Wow. I was impressed by how much was learned in such a short time.
presenter had multiple flip charts to augment the slides that were helpful but also a large distraction. They were posted all over the room. As a participant I would like to have this info printed in a powerpoint slide for future reference. This was not conducive to be able to access at a later date.I also felt as if we were thrown into certain role play scenarios without proper direction and learning the steps/techniques. I would have liked to see an example or have instructor do a thorough review of the steps once should take prior to engaging in practice. The overall format was very boring. Having a lecture type seminar where the instructor has you follow along in a workbook is not very effective. I would suggest much more interaction and real life scenario based practice to make this more effective.
Sara Leigh-Ann S.
A topic or section on diversity may be helpful.
This was my first interactive seminar. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it.
I liked the fact the instructor was reading through the book and explaining and relating from his work experiencing. I felt that was very helpful.
Overall I think that she was an effective instructor made sure to answer everyone's questions.
The instructor was knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. However, there were flipchart notes that were taped all around the room that kept falling off and he was easily distracted by them. He would run to tape it back up mid-sentence and it was disruptive for the whole class. This happened several times each day for the duration of the training. He would share side stories which were relevant to the topic at hand, but then would drag out the story and by the end of the day, he would rush through the remaining topics. The content for this class is great for a new manager but it may not be beneficial for someone with an HR background as they probably are already familiar with most of the topics. I really liked the Situational Leadership II topic and assessment as it taught me more about how I am as a leader and what areas need to be worked on. The room we were in was extremely cold which was another distraction. It was very hard to concentrate when it's freezing and everyone starts to put on their coats and scarves to stay warm.
I think Haywood is phenomenal with his expertise on this class. We were engaged every minute of each day.
The instructor was great. He taught the class in a manner that was easy to grasp and understand. The group discussions gave much insight to how a real-world discussion may go. Overall, it was a great experience and a great class.
Overall, I thought the course and materials were good. It definitely enlightened me about the "science" behind people management. It is a skill that can be developed if you are given the right tools to use.
Mike, Louise and (the other guy, sorry I forgot his name) were all amazing. Mike was not only extremely informative, he was very personable and that goes a long way, especially being in remote locations. The tech side of things from Louise and her partner was exceptional and made things smooth and interactive.
Only small improvement might be spending just a bit less time on personal experience stories, but I can't single any one out that wasn't uniquely useful in some way.
During the training I learned new skill which I look forward to using while managing employees.
Very informative, rich of practical insights that can help immensely in the day to day job and in planning improvements (both personal and for reports).
Very clear and well supported.
The instructor and assistant were great.
Haywood did a great job having the group interacting a lot together and with him.
I felt like I learned some valuable information, but there was material that I feel wasn't necessary for me. I don't mind some group activities, but it seemed to take away from the learning experience at times.
I thought AMA provided an excellent training opportunity and I will be implementing some of these idea's and management styles into my department in hopes of becoming a more effective leader.
The material is practical and applicable to my role. The kinds of tips that you wish someone would have pulled you aside and told you earlier in your career.
Instructor was very good and covered lots of helpful material.
Time Well spent. There were topics that I wish we could have dived deeper into but this was a good introduction and gave enough strategies and skills to go back and execute, and further develop.
I am extremely pleased with the quality of this training. I thought Kurt was a fantastic facilitator. The location was great, the content was very good and timely for me. I enjoyed meeting the other participants and am very glad that I was able to take the training.
This seminar provided a lot of valuable information on how to be a more effective and thoughtful manager. I definitely plan on incorporating some of the things I learned and I feel that I left the class better equipped to handle some of the situations I've encountered as a manager.
great pace, topics were spot-on, instructor very knowledgeable and able to keep attendees engaged.
Rafi was a great instructor, I really enjoyed his teaching methods and how he relayed most examples to his personal life experience. The concept that really resonated with me the most was the Situational Leadership model. I found this extremely interesting and plan to utilize this within my current role.
The training was amazing! I took away many new management skills, and am eager to put them into my tool box. 3 days flew by with lots of great information.
Lots of good tips I plan to use
Susan was a great instructor
Very positive experience.
Susan was very good and kept the flow going nicely
Excellent course, it gave me ways to focus my managerial efforts and look at my direct reports' development
Refi was a great instructor, and gave us a number of useful tools as managers. His personal stories were relateable and helped drive home certain methodologies. He was very knowledgeable and also approachable.
The instructor was great. He was very engaging and presented the material very well.
Mike was an amazing teacher. The amount of information and quality, actionable teaching we received in such a relatively short time was staggering.
Instructor was engaging and facilitated valuable discussions within the group. Provided a dynamic learning environment for managers to identify and work on skills that require improvement for success.
Haywood was an excellent facilitator. I would recommend the class to anyone needing management training.
Great topics, discussions and great real work examples. Very organized and relevant topics. Pat was AWESOME!!!
Great interaction and discussion
Class was good info for new supervisors, instructor did a very good job teaching the cource
Mike was by far, the best instructor, I have ever had. He was enthusiastic, engaging, knowledgeable, welcoming and a fantastic speaker. Mike effectively delivered the material and lessons by sharing experiences, providing excellent explanations and relevant examples. He welcomed questions, and was an effective instructor by not providing the attendee's the answers, but by drawing them out of themselves. A wonderful example of techniques taught in that very course. This seminar could only be effectively delivered from someone who was committed to being the best and had the experience. He was a perfect example of intrinsic motivators. The overall location of the environment was distracting. The fact it was on the top floor (28th) of the building delayed travel to and from the room. The room had a lot of drafts and wind noise. They were also doing construction on nearby floors, which complicated the lesson with audible distractions of hammer drills and saws, along with an increase of travel time due to elevator occupation. The room was too small and crowded with 12 people, along with the tables being too small for the class. The number of attendees was perfect. If this was in a better environment, more easily accessible, and provided more comfortable amenities, it would have been perfect.
great content and tools learned during this course. Certainly motivational. Wish that more managers in similar roles to me were in the course so I could relate more to their experiences.
I learned many practical managing skills throughout the training.
I learn a lot of management skills for new managers. Excellent course.
The training was good, possibly due to vast content it felt a bit rushed.
The presenter, Larry, was great. He really brings a lot of energy to the class.
Very well structured course. The material is easy to understand and easy to apply in everyday situations.
I enjoyed the curriculum, wish the pace would have moved a little faster and there would have been more hands-on activities and less lecture.
RafaeRefael was an incredible instructor. He was very knowledgable and used his real-life experiences to add depth to the materials he delivered. He also incorporated small group discussions and presentations, brainstorming sessions and role playing to enhance the overall learning environment.
Larry tells too many personal stories and focused oh HR. I thought I was getting a class for managers. He certainly is knowledable and very nice but I was disappointed will the overall class. He lots the class several times and did not realize it. People were actually, texting, working on their laptops, or having conversations about other stuff...or their frustration.
The training was excellent in my opinion. The instructor was obviously a subject matter expert and kept the entire class engaged throughout the entire training. This class was well worth the time and expense.
Overall very good. If there is something what you could improve is the have more time for practice what we learned.
I WENT INTO THIS CLASS FEELING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE BUT AFTER IT WAS OVER WITH I FELT COMFORABLE AND GOT ALOT OUT OF THE CLASS
IT WAS ALMOST TOO MUCH INFO. OVER THE THREE DAY COURSE. OVERALL, I RECEIVED ALOT OF KNOWLEDGE AND WILL PUT TO USE WHAT I LEARNED.
The instructor had knowledge of the subject but had the book knowledge. He didn't relate to the subject of how he applied and what the results were of the approach and application of the knowledge. He also to an extent dismissed some suggestions/ideas or experience the group had. I am in HR and I definitely have different view on training and management, but I dont appreciate the instructor telling me that I can answer a questions he asked just because I have HR experience. I did learn new things I can apply but my overall experience was not as expected from trainer and instructor. This is my first time I attended AMA training and honestly dont think I will come back.
Overall the training was engaging and helpful for myself as I develop in my role as a new manager. The practice activities were helpful but I believe a little bit more time could have been spent in the course materials to better explain the theory and importance of each module, including situational leadership, coaching, and delegation.
Rafael was an excellent instructor. The way he combined his own real world examples along with the course material was fantastic. He was able to make what could have been a purely academic topic and seminar very engaging and likeable. The group exercises really helped reinforce the content. Rafi solicited situations from the group that would help us with the content and those examples from fellow managers really helped us all get more from the course.
The course instructor was my favorite part. Clearly a knowledgeable individual, kept us engaged with personal anecdotes that were always applicable. Excellent style and so nice!
Extremely great and transformative.
Great teacher, very funny and engaging. Used real world examples constantly to tie in with the lessons. I legitimately feel like I will be a better manager.
Instructor was excellent, providing real life examples from his experience also getting the class to provide examples that they are currently working through.
Haywood set a respectful, open, and collaborative tone to the training session. His synthesis and delivery of written materials was very approachable. I think some of the best content was the "bonus" content in which he expanded on course material. I am very pleased with the training overall and would take another class from Haywood.
Haywood was an excellent teacher, very energetic and able to keep us involved!
The content was applicable and well organized and the instructor did an great job keeping the class engaged.
Seminar came timely as I needed a resin to remain at my current work position. I am better positioned on coaching for performance.
The pre-test was good, as I came in already having questions.
this is a course that every new manager should take a a tool to be an effective manager.
Joseph was very knowledgable and approachable. The content was relevant and practical. The group work was also very good at reinforcing the concepts presented. I would highly recommend the course to anyone interested in management.
Valuable information in a short period of time
Dr Joseph was an amazing instructor. I was hesitant at first in taking this class, but now I'm really glad that I did. Dr Joseph opened many doors in how to respond effectively to any situation you might face as a Manager. If you think you're doing a good job, he can help you do a great job.
Very thorough, associated to real life situations.
group sessions seemed rush, but it makes do to the amount of information that needs to be covered in 3 days.
great skills and guidelines taught in a very interactive manner
Joe was engaging and kept the class interesting. Very good job!
I enjoyed my time and definitely found the information/ training valuable. I will certainly use my newfound skills in my management role moving forward. I did, however, find the training to be a bit drawn out and it could have easily been condensed to a day and a half course. Pat was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to.
I learned a great deal during this course. More detail in the books would be helpful. I am an independent learner and learn better if I can read by myself and have something to reference over time. A lot of the information I took away from this course came from Larry's lectures and flip charts which required me to take detailed notes.
Great knowledge all around! Will take more classes.
I thought this seminar was extremely helpful. There were a lot of ideas discussed not only from the instructor but the other participants that I will be able to apply to my work place.
Some of the material was useful, other parts were less interesting. The introduction section did not have to be an hour and a half.
Joe is a very knowledgeable and wonderful instructor. Love his presentations and coaching
Exactly what I needed. Instructor was very knowledgeable and brought a lot to the table.
Great coaching. I learned a lot!!
The instructor was very knowledgeable and kept the pacing very consistent and enjoyable. His use of different training techniques also helped keep each section fresh.
I believe the instructor was well versed on the subject matter. And I thought his shared experiences help me to understand better .
Ragi was great easy to talk to and bounce ideas off of.
Loved the course. Raffi did an amazing job of mixing theory with practical application.
Excellent experience, learned alot of skills to take back.
This was very good training session. I particularly enjoyed the practical portion of the session.
Rafi was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to provide a great deal of insight for any and all of the situations we threw at him.
was great. it was very engaging
Great real world examples
Very good real world examples were discussed.
Carrie was able to provide real time solutions so some of the challenges I have been faced with.
Very insightful on different management styles and approaches to employees.
I wish we could have done more example real world role playing, so I could approach actual situations I face as a manager at work on a daily basis.
This was very informational and I learned a lot.
The training overall from the instructor to the group was amazing. There was a great connection with everyone that participated in the group. It is definitely something that reassured me that some things I was doing as a manager was on track with what was taught. I never had any formal training for management and created my own style based on my experience during my career. This is a MUST for anyone in a management type role. We often times forget the little things we do to show our appreciation for our teams and it was a great reminder.
The content that was covered will be useful for me in my career.
Larry was an excellent teacher and gave great feedback. I would highly recommend this course.
The professor covered the class in depth and was extremely knowledgeable. The professor provided feedback to the class and per individual basis. I will recommend this course to my colleagues and my network.Due to the positive experience I have encountered in this course I will pursue other coursed with AMA.
I left there with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Carrie made it seem so simply drawing ref. To her life and experience
Overall, I felt the course met my objectives and was a very productive use of my time. I absolutely walked away with good information that I will be able to implement as a manager and will be a much better manager after participating in this course. With that being said, I think Larry was a good instructor, but not quite great. His examples sometimes felt a bit dated and not always relevant to an office environment (often focusing more on a factory or union led facility). Given the changing office culture of having many more remote employees and work situations, I think the course and his particular instruction and materials should start to focus on that more. He seemed a bit stumped when we asked to discuss it further as it seemed he wanted to skip over that portion, but we felt it was very relevant to today's environment.
I was not impressed with the instructor or the tools used. i learned from the other participants but only little from the instructor. He was very much reading from the slides and giving non-useful / non-relevant examples
Don was a superb instructor. This was the best management training I've ever attended.
Good training and material for New manager.
Don was fantastic in the class. I bonded with him and the rest of the class did as well.
This course is a bit more general than what I was hoping for, but offers a lot of good information and perspective for new managers. The instructor was very engaged and engaging, but his pacing was a little bit slow. That said, he was one of the best instructors I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He was clearly very interested in accomplishing the goals of the course and improving the skills and effectiveness of the entire class.
Really enjoyed how Deb presented the course and kept the group involved. Took a lot away from the class and look forward to implementing what i have learned in my work environment.
This training served a wonderful purpose in my learning and development as a new manager. I received new information and concepts that will allow me to be a better coach, motivator, delegator and to better understand the needs of my associates. I now have a structure and format to put concepts into action for my team. I not only learned these new management skills, this course helped me get back to the basics of connecting with people. We all have tasks to do in any given career, but the most important task is and always should be connecting with and understanding people. Don inspired me so much during the 3 days we spent as a class. He is a wonder and a joy as an instructor. The method that he delivers the course information is relatable. He made me want to not just be a better manager, but a better person overall. I am forever grateful for him and that he could share so much in such a short period of time and how he allowed the class to share in return. Thank you so very much, Don!
Don was extremely engaging with topics and a very enjoyable teacher. He utilized real world examples and engaged all attendees.
Amazing course leader, kept class engaged, involved, and motivated
Don had excellent presentation skills and kept the class engaged during the class. I would like for him to involve some video examples to change thing up a bit.
I liked the rael life examples and the discussion.
I honestly learned a good bit . I was very nervous at the beginning but Diana has a way to make you feel welcome.
Very informative. I learned a great deal that I can use at my position. Thank you
The class was very informative. It included interaction and other methods to reinforce the skills discussed.
