The facility was great, the instructor (Larry Ray) was WONDERFUL. I would seek out classes taught just by him. The material was presented in an engaging and easy to digest manner and added tremendous value to my chest of professional tools. There was an ABSOLUTE value for the money spent here.
Good class, nice to bounce ideas off of other people, friendly and knowledgeable instructor.
Tracy was animated, passionate, and engaging on the seminar. Her presentation was a good mix of discussion and activities.
Tracy was energetic and excited to teach this class
Appreciated that the class didn’t stick too much with following and reading through the manual. Applicable and helpful group discussions and great feedback from peers & facilitator.
I imagine this course would be much different without Stacy instructing. She is truly genuine and and caring. She wants to see us succeed.
Great class, great energy, great content. A lot of hands-on exercises, which help understanding the concepts learned. On some sections however, I thought the course leader went too fast or asked us to read the book later after class.
Was a great intro to leadership and covered a lot of basics that everyone should have in their skillset.
Fay did a good job as an instructor to get us all involved in the group discussion.I have a better understanding of what it takes to be a good leader.
The seminar broke down many areas of management and Leadership, and offered useful tools and guidelines that are very applicable.
I have one issue that wasn’t addressed appropriately with AMA. On Monday, I asked for a private room to be on an important conference call for 30-45 minutes at 12:30pm the following day. The front desk called a manager. After waiting some time for a manager, I was told that I would have a private room available for the next day at the time I needed it. Tuesday morning, I stopped by the desk to confirm the specifics. The attendee knew nothing about my need for a room. They said they were sorry, one wouldn’t be available. He also said rooms were never available for calls; they were only available for nursing mothers. Additionally, nursing rooms have poor cell service. . My only option would be to take the call in a public area. They called another manager who was not able to help me, and gave the same anwer as the front desk. He also told me I would only be able to get a private room for my 30-45 minutes by paying $200 and renting a room for an entire half day. Paying this much for a short call was not appropriate, and being in a public area for my call was not appropriate. As a result, I approached my AMA Instructor, Fay, about the situation and she contacted Marty (AMA) who arranged for a private area on the 6th floor. I am so thankful for Fay and Marty! It worked out! On the other hand, I think this whole situation was handled poorly by AMA until Marty was contacted. I paid a lot for this two day course, as do other attendees, and it is professional to accommodate t
The instructor was entertaining and relatable. I really enjoyed both days, never was there a dull, boring moment.
Excellent facilitator.Rich style has been effective in particular the teaching methodology and the visualization of tools and techniques.
Ann provided a comprehensive overview of what it takes to step up into a leadership position, and armed us with a great set of tools to deal with challenging situations as new managers.
This was the best LOL I have been in and by far the best instructor.
Ann was fantastic, very informative
I really enjoyed the course. I learned a lot about myself, and I had many eye-opening revelations about what I need to work on to improve myself. I was also inspired to develop new ways to help my team improve and to get noticed in our organization.
Very knowledgeable instructor, well designed curriculum, and an overall friendly environment. Course material is focused on the basic fundamentals of leadership. Touching briefly on real world application, this course should be taken by individuals with very little to no leadership experience.
I think I should have taken this course first, prior to Voice of Leadership. This course was a smaller version of the Voice of Leadership which had a bunch more depth to it. This was like a summary course of that one.
I really enjoyed the training. It gave me a new perspective on how to manage people and communicate productively in a dynamic work environment. Coming out of this training I feel confident that I have the necessary skills and knowledge to lead.
Really engaging content and fun instructor.
I wished the description mentioned that this course was for mostly entry level managers. It was too basic for me and I had to leave after the first day.
Instructor was very good. She added a lot of real life examples to the fairly basic training. She also engaged the class and drew from their experience to make it more meaningful. The material was a little more basic and simplistic than I had hoped.
Very well formed and presented. A lot of interesting ideas. I hope it will really helped in real business life
Bev was great and pleasant facilitator. However, I had different expectations for the course. I felt the course was for more entry level participants.
Rich presented the material in meaningful way to get each element across. I really felt like this was a thought provoking class that brings back basics and expands on them. I really enjoyed my time there.
A lot of good information and open discussions about different perspectives of leadership.
Very knowledgeable instructor
Carole was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Her ways of engaging everyone made it a great learning enviornment
Good atmosphere, in-depth discussions and excellent connections with the instructor and the material
Great course, Carole gave some good feedback and examples to the class.
Very introspective and empowering
We ran out of time and couldn't get through all the modules.
Very helpful information for my development provided in an easy to digest format, with appropriate emphasis on topics that were important to me.
R. Scott H.
Jill was great! She led very constructive conversations and helped to mitigate one attendee who was rather negative about some situations we discussed.
Jill was a wonderful trainer - kept the class moving at all times and was very insightful. The Hotel was not clear when asked where the class was being held and the table set up in the room could have been done differently.
Good tips, role playing
Instructor was excellent. Gave good examples and thought provoking scenarios.
Great organization and content!
Very informative. Blended theory with real-world examples to enhance learning
I was anticipating a seminar based more on advancing in leadership, not necessarily on what to do in order to become a leader. I felt the seminar was steered toward the output of the attendees rather than the expertise of the instructor.
Good topics and discussion.
I thought this was an excellent seminar on anyone who is being exposed to a new leadership role. The instructor did a great job engaging all participants and used variety of different exercises to explain what it takes to be a leader.
The course was well taught however i think the content left a little to be desired. Most of what was discussed could be easily obtained via independent reading and did not warrant a course. I learned a few things but was not inspired.
This course provided great information and put into perspective the behaviors, attitude and flexibility it takes to be a leader. the online forum and materials were very useful and encouraged group participation in a long distance course.
This was an excellent class!!
Instructor provided relevant examples and engaged the students. His experience helped bring the points across. He allowed time for us to interact with and learn from each other as well.
The training was overall good. I think this is a good training for new managers.
The training covered very useful concepts related to being a good leader. The instructor did a great job explaining concepts and gave relevant examples related to the topics. The instructor also made the training very engaging.
Great training material and John did great connected with me and the rest of the attendees in the classroom. I also thoroughly enjoyed working on the case study with the group. I walked much more aware of what it takes to grow in a leadership position. I would also take another training with John again!!
Ann provided a great course. Her examples were real world, helping us connect to the material. She made sure she touched on all the aspects we were all thriving to know and understand.
Very engaging I enjoined this class and felt the instructor was very informative and would recommend this course to others
Very interesting and engaging presenter
Great Course and Great Shared/Life Experiences
Overall, it was a success! This was my first offsite training seminar, and it honestly exceeded my expectations. Our course leader, Jill, was engaging and insightful. We had a great, intimate group of future leaders who really put in the effort to get the most out of this seminar. I feel as though I have some great new tools in my toolbox.
Concepts and materials were good/useful to work through. Overall pace of the course was slow.
The training was very good, and I feel like I have quite a few tools and action items that I've captured. Jim was a great instructor - he had so many great real life examples of what works (and also some of what doesn't work). In some ways, the real life examples were even more helpful than the course material.
I appreciate that the training session involved several interactive activities. The instructor provided good examples of real life experiences, along with thought-provoking ideas related to leadership. My take-away was it is important to write-down a vision statement, goals, and action plans related to leadership.
I thought the presenter Terri covered the content very well, but I felt the content was too basic. I thought the material for this entire class could have been summed up in a few hours and used as an intro for a more advanced leadership course. Terri however had many engaging, real life examples and was not afraid to go off curriculum for a bit to pursue a student's train of thought. Overall I enjoyed the instructor, but not the content, and would not recommend the course.
Good class, but not clear how your can really teach motivation, politics and the use of power in a single day classroom setting
In the instructor went above and beyond for this class.
Sue was excellent in facilitating the course and keeping the group engaged.
I enjoyed the class because it made me think and reflect on how I come across as a leader and all the different factors that a leader is impacted by.
A lot of repetition; it could have been spent on other points. Never mentioned anything related to management skills. Several hours were spent in learning negotiating instead of leading or managing.
Good material information; excellent examples giving by instructor and other peers; breaking class up between presenting info, watching videos, and performing exercises makes class more interactive
It was a great class and learned several leadership qualities. It felt a little rushed on the last day of class.
Never provided a positive learning environment and shared experiences with the class.
Beverly was excellent in ensuring that the training was understood and beneficial. Very knowledgeable of the topic.
Bev was great. Very knowledgeable and available to ask questions.
Bev is an excellent trainer. She knows the material and presents it well. She keeps the class lively by interacting with and involving all of her students.
Instructor is too good.
I thoroughly enjoyed the session and walked away with great ideas that I will incorporate into my role as Administrator.
Was expecting more from class.
Tracy was an excellent instructor. She brought a lot of expertise, knowledge, energy and fun into the classroom and was always open for questions, points of clarification, and feedback. She set a good pace for the class that kept everyone engaged and interested.
This course provided tools I needed to refine my leadership style and validated that I have what it takes to pursue a role in management.
Tracy led the group into doing our self assessment, taught us on various aspects of leadership, and aloowed us to add our point of view and own experiences in each aspect. I loved every exercise, especially the harder ones.
Great pace of instruction.
I really enjoyed this class, and learned a lot from various classroom discussions and stories/quotes the instructor added! You get so much more out of a class like this when people share ideas and experiences.
The class was entertaining and was engaging. I want to comment on accessibility of the site in Arlington. Sending an email on parking directions would have been very helpful as I spend 1/2 hour looking for parking and understanding about the situation. I even called your office to find out and the person only told me about the parking in the Buffalo wild Wings is cheaper than the building parking. But didn't mention that the building is across the road from the parking. It was raining and I had to look for the building after I came out of the parking garage. Also I did not like the class environment as it was uncomfortable to sit on a chair for the whole day training. There should have been an option to stand-up desk or chair as well to support some movement around the room. Breaks between the training was fine. I would really appreciate if a training location can be added in Montgomery county too.
The class was well run. Larry did a great job of leading us through exercises that reinforced concepts.
The course was very informative, interactive, and practical. The instructor was highly knowledgeable, engaging, and responsive to all questions.
Connie Hall was a wonderful concierge, she really thought of every detail! There wasnt really A LOT of new/exciting information shared in the session. I would like to see some updated content. Maye I needed to take a higher level class? The section I was most interested in was how to handle difficult people or unmotivated people and that was the last section. Though, I do also really enjoy the personality quiz and talking about the different types of personality. We spent too much time deciding who was what personality type. Maybe that could have been done ahead of time and then we spend more class time talking about specific, usable tactics that work with each type of person. Spend less time on theories of organization structure/operational dynamics and more time on specific actions that can be implemented as soon as we return home. You may share my feedback, but please keep it anonymous.
I have been to several AMA courses. This one was so much better than any that I have ever attended. The content was very good but the instructor was stellar.
the instructor was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. The subject matter was relevant as well.
Best training I've been to for soft skills and leadership development.
Day 1 was a little slow. Too much detail on the course agenda and explaining instruction. Would like to see a little more role playing/student interaction.
Insightful training. Wish it was a day longer to get more information.
The training was very interesting and made me underestand what are the key points that help me become an excellent leader.
Instructor engaged the participants and made the class easy going.
Some of the material didn't apply to my current role, however it was very helpful know the material for future positions that I am working towards holding.
Jill was fantastic!
The training was well laid out and easy to follow
Fay did an outstanding job with engaging the class with the material as well as sharing her personal experiences. The class participation and group activities was well coordinated and allowed the participants to have practice with different skills.
Very informative great instructor
Bev has great experience, very observant of good and bad leadership qualities. Course was comprehensive, interactive and fun.
I got a lot of good stories as well as pictures which helps me greatly in the learning process. But I also got a lot of good academic lecturing which is needed to see break down management verses leadership. Group discussions were good in terms of being able to learn from others in the class, especially when they talked about previous experiences. This class helped me notice things, good things, about my own company they do that is good leadership. Instructor John also gave me a very good and simple foundation for leadership to begin to practice if I become a manager down the road. I can also begin to practice now while in the trenches, and it might make my job easier if I become a manager to already have some of this in practice.
The instructor, John was fantastic!
It was very good event that enable us to understand basic concept of leadership. The tips we read about the leadership are useful for career progression.
I thought the course was well taught and ran. Wish we could have had an extra day or so to cover the material, but overall wonderful experience.
It was fine.
Very elementary in terms of depth of leadership and discussion. Could have gone a lot further into specifics. Also spent too much time talking about herself and her own accomplishments. I just think with the skill of people you get at AMA functions you can ask the participants to go deeper into the material and demand more of them.
Learning about the different leadership styles was very helpful. This will help me to be more forgiving of managers whose style is different from my own. Another valuable lesson is that leaders need to be adaptable and flex to a different style of leadership depending on the situation and the experience/skill of the employees. I also found the segment on how trust is built (or destroyed) to be very valuable.Yvonne did a great job of keeping us engaged and on schedule. She shared her personal experiences in a way that enhanced the lessons in the class.
The pace was appropriate and the team building was appropriate.
Fay is certainly a leader in this field and teaches it effortlessly. She is a leader in getting the group to lead themselves in real-life scenarios - a quality you end up expecting at an AMA class.
Fay was amazing. Speed of the course was just right and the information given by Fay was great!
The Training was very interesting and developed my leadership skill
I felt like the host was a little long winded; could have wrapped things up a little quicker.
Ann was engaging the entire time. Minimal technical difficulties using Adobe connect. A great part of the course is the participation by all.
Ann is very enthusiastic and engaging in her presentation.
I enjoyed learning more about myself through the leadership styles, as well as through self-assessments. Also, it was good to know what the senior managements want from the attributes of a leader.
I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this course. The lessons on leadership style were so valuable and the discussions were great to see how different some of us would respond or handle situations.
The course cover a wide-range of useful topics and was well presented.
Seminar was a fantastic entry into the leadership world with detail to each type of style and personal desire.
This course was exceptional. The facilitator was very knowledgeable! I learned so much valuable information. He was able to relate with so many real life stories and examples. Really helps when trying to teach leadership theories and models.
Teacher was excellent. He did a great job of providing examples that all attendees with diverse backgrounds and roles could relate to and learn from.
This course was absolutely excellent and exceeded my expectations. Ann's teaching style matched my learning style (personal examples and story-telling) and I got many learnings out of the stories she told alone. Assessing my own leadership style (according to the 4 leadership styles reviewed) was eye-opening for me. I thought I was one leadership style, and turns out I'm a different one-- the one I wanted to be! I'm so glad I took this course. It was well worth it.
good reason and explanations. provided real life experience scenarios.
The training was very good. Enjoyed the materials and the facilitator. She was knowledgeable and engaging.
It seemed rushed. I would have liked to have spent a bit more time on each topic. In previous courses, we were able to delve deeper.
I think that this class was more beneficial to those who are about to become people leaders (i.e., supervisors and managers) than it was to individuals making the step from supervisor/manager to director, assistant vice president, or similar. While the content was excellent and concrete, I don't know how much new information I gained.
Maria J M.
The course pretest, in-class self assessments and instructor's material made me realize the things I am doing that I should not be doing as a manager as well as the things I am NOT doing, that I should be. Overall, the course helped set goals and objectives for the overall success of my teams.
Excellent class, great group dialog.
This training was helpful for anyone in a management or leadership role regardless of how high up you are in a company. It helps you to look at situation with others and learn different ways to encourage and influence to drive results. The instructor was great at relating a management issue to an experience she has had previously.
The course "What it takes to lead" was eye opening in multiple dimensions. I've learned a lot and can't wait to apply the knowledge.
Great experience. Maribel had good insights and creative ways about presenting them.
Maribel was great. She brought so much real time experiences and stories in to our seminar
Enjoyed the interactive learning experience.
Bev was great. She proved to be very knowledgeable, competent, and a good teacher.
I thoroughly enjoyed this training, the instructor was excellent.
Teacher was very knowledgeable on the subject.
This was a great class. The material, instructor, and all else, really, were great. Great examples from our instructor, Bev! She was very knowledgeable and helpful.
This is a great starting point as a manager..
Bev is an outstanding presenter. I enjoyed the class and have learned information that I will be able to take back with me and use.
Bev did a awesome job in this class definitely would recommend to everyone to take this class
Bev is very knowledgable and she is a wealth of knowledge.
Extremely helpful. Instructor was very informed and very much enjoyed her leading the class
Great interactivity and case studies
super entry level. lacked participation. very little reference material provided. information seemed dated and instructor couldn't respond to questions referencing if the material had been updated since it was "toastmasters."
I thought that the seminar provided great insight and opportunity for real building of leadership strengths. The projects we were given with each person having a different role to play was a great way to look at different scenarios through different eyes.
The personal / professional stories shared by the course Lead, as well as the provided resource materials; were extremely beneficial.
The training was extremely beneficial for me I learn a new skills for a good leadership
Terri was a wonderful instructor. It was very clear that she was well-versed in leadership, and she was a great teacher!
The course is great. Lot of interaction involved with the team members. Group discussion are the best part of the course. Faculty trainer did an amazing job in sharing the knowledge.
The information in this course was timely, well assembled, and professionally presented, making it valuable and applicable immediately.
Class room facilities is goodAgenda OK
Too many stories
Solid broad-based seminar on the aspects of leadership in todays corporate world
Yvonne is wonderful, I really enjoyed this seminar.
I thought the training went well. I really like the role-playing on Day 2. This gave me some ideas of how to handle a difficult negotiation.
Instructor was very good and the information presented was extremely helpful. Learned some things I didn't know or hadn't thought of prior.
Course was well thought out. It covered basic elements that one would encounter in work environment.
The class touched on real life experiences and the professor promoted this discussion.
good pace and good discussions
the instructor was pleasant and helpful. i learned a lot from her and all those who attended. good atmosphere in the class. Many thanks Terri!
excellent course and I really enjoyed the facilitator
The trainer was amazing, I very much enjoyed this course. Very informative and well put together.
Terri was very resourceful and professional. Made the training fun by assigning exercises for each module
Very interactive & open conversation with a small group of professionals from many different backgrounds.
The materials for this seminar were excellent. Terri was AMAZING. The real life experience she brought in alongside the materials for this seminar definitely went hand in hand.
The class was very informative from both a lecture and a discussion perspective. The instructor was able to keep a great energy throughout the session by pushing the envelope on participant engagement.
She is good and knows her subject
Really liked the course material, break out sessions and over all Ann's cadence in conducting the session. Was a good networking opportunity with my industry peers and it was great to get some insights from them on some of the common leadership challenges we face irrespective of which industry we are in.
Ann was very engaging and a very good storyteller. She's a great presenter and facilitated the course well!
The instructor was very knowledgeable on the subject matter and engaging. As a result many of the intrical points resonated with me. However, I expected some discussion or feedback on the initial assessment.
She was in command of her materials, the delivery was excellent, and she simplified it in a way that it was interactive.
My instructor was knowledgeable and had real world experience that applied
Carole was a great leader to be in charge of this class. She was very informative on the topic and was able to give many specific examples. I would recommend this class to others professionals who may be interested.
Information was very helpful and useful. Carole was excellent. I certainly hope to attend more courses that she leads.
Very beneficial. Carole did a fantastic job. She was clear and concise. She exceeded my expectations.
Carole is fantastic. I learned a lot! I am excited to put this to use.
Great motivator. Well versed in the topic.
This class covered the key areas I need to have at the top of my list for making it to the next level.
Great information. Instructor was very knowledgeable on the subject and had the life experience to back it up. Able to share many real world examples from her own life and those she has encountered throughout.
Very educated and experienced instructor; engaging and entertaining
Yvonne did a wonderful job of presenting the info and creating an open discussion formate.
Pace was a little slow, given the materials we covered. Would have enjoyed more exercises to apply concepts to real-life situations.
We had a few participants speaking about their own opinions on several subjects that took up too much time, so we didn't have as much time to spend on all the materials and exercises in the book.
I really enjoyed the course. I know I will be able to put to use what I learned both at work and outside work. The instructor was very knowledgeable on this subject and was able to interject real life scenarios, which was a big help.
I thought the class was excellent and provided great flexibility Leadership.
Unfortunately the course was lacking content and concrete example. It was too throretical and I didnt feel i learned something new.
Terri was an excellent instructor who knew when to give feedback and when to listen.
Terri's pace and tone was amazing. This was my first experience taking an online course and it was a GREAT one, indeed! Mike also did a flawless job as producer! He was extremely helpful and kept everyone on schedule.
Very experience teacher/mentor for the class, highly recommend this class with Ms. Sue Clapper
The course seemed more dry than other AMA courses I've experienced, without building in some in-depth discussion about real-life examples and challenges. Based on the website, I thought the course would be ideal for someone not yet in management role, however it seemed to be focused on those who have direct reports. There was not much attention given on 'how to get noticed' or selected for leadership, although that is one of the key benefits described. Similarly, organizational politics is not covered much compared to how it is advertised. I think the course would benefit from diving in deeper with true examples that participants can relate to and learn from, and the instructor should be driving these discussions surrounding real-life examples. The course I attended mostly walked page by page through the manual, taking time for many exercises that were individual instead of group-based. The advantage of being in a group as opposed to a web-based course is the experience and diversity in the room. The course would benefit from trying to leverage that, as it does in other courses.
I liked the small class size but the location did not have many options for lunch. The instructor started on time and ended on time and the real-world examples reinforced the course content.
Teacher was terrific and she was able to keep an audience that was very diverse in terms of professional experience engaged.
This was a great course. The classroom was warm because the AC was not working. That was the only negative.
Materials and presentation of the materials kept everyone engaged throughout the 2 days.
The instructor was very knowledgeable and engaging. She had some very good examples that everyone could relate to.
Useful training, but not a great value for the expense. Also expected better hospitality for the expense.
The instructor, where as she knew her material, she added nothing to the course. In fact, her style and tone really affected the quality of the training. Example. she was scored low (a 2) on the first day by one individual and the second day she verbally took offense to it and kept bringing it up. I felt talked down to. She really obstructed my ability to learn.
Fay did a fantastic job. One thing I would recommend is more time for group tasks and a little more time for lunch. It was hard to get out and back in an hour.
room was hot, wrong video was provided to instructor
Interesting class, really liked Fay thought she was a wonderful teacher and leader. Content probably could've been done in a day and half, but otherwise was really good.
The class was fantastic. Really great material and the professor covered everything thoroughly. She also had a great way of engaging the group.
It would be great if Lunch and light snacks are provided that will save lot of time and give more opportunities to network and get more time to discuss and not leave the facility.
I thought the seminar was very informative. And it actually provided information you could take back to your job and use. I was pleased with the session and would recommend it to colleagues.
Excellent information and instructor! Really loved the whole experience!
Great class lots of useful information
I thought the content was adequate. I was able to determine my leadership style and how to adapt my style when necessary. Also, we touched upon dealing with politics. My instructor was knowledgeable but sometimes went off on a tangent. Also, the instructions given for group exercises was not always clear which lead to confusion.
I thought Carole was a phenomenal facilitator. She did an excellent job of engaging the group. It never felt forced. She created a comfortable environment that provided a very organic learning experience. I truly enjoyed the experience and felt I gained a lot from listening to both her personal and professional experiences, as well as those of others in the group.
Instructor was extremely knowledgeable with several practical "real life" examples.
Engaging/interactive format. Sue was extremely knowledgeable and an insightful educator.
Great class. Lots of good interaction and discussion between participants and the instructor.
Excellent seminar. The instructor was very energetic and knowledgable. Course content was very engaging.
My experience with the "Preparing for Leadership: What It Takes to Take the Lead" training coarse with A.M.A. was excellent. The instructor kept the class engaged at all times with her experience and knowledge.I thoroughly enjoyed the class and gained valuable knowledge that I will continue to work with into my future growth in leadership positions.
Great seminar, engaging, good information, pertinent to my practice.
The course was fine, but the principles taught in it could easily have been covered in a shorter amount of time. The advantage of the course was hearing from attendees from a wide variety of backgrounds.
The class exceeded all my expectations and I would highly recommend the class to anyone who has the desire to become a great leader in business and life. I enjoyed the group interaction and numerous opportunities to present in front of the class. The many timed and focused study cases emphasized the power of group think when performed under effective leadership. My instructor, Tracy, was outstanding and created an environment that maximized understanding and application of the class material. Tracy encouraged participants to step out of their comfort zone during group activities and provide open and honest feedback, which allowed participants to quickly identify and begin to address their leadership weaknesses.
Tracy was an energetic, knowledgeable and excellent facilitator who covered a large amount of material in a short time. There seemed to be too much material for the time allotted for this course (which was a day and 2/3), but Tracy deftly chose the most important units to cover and I came home with some valuable nuggets of learning. I would recommend this course (or a similar course) to any of my colleagues who need some leadership training.
I found this class to be extremely helpful in preparation for my taking on a new leadership role within my organization. Practical skills were developed that I have no doubt will help me with a smooth transition. I was very impressed with Tracy, our instructor, and the tools she shared with us including the role playing and brainstorming sessions within our group.
Great training seminar, very useful. Instructor was good, a little unclear of her directions sometimes but overall a good instructor. Facility was clean and neat.
I really enjoyed the class as it provided me with a different perspective of my leadership opportunities and strengths. Carole was very interactive and a pleasure to work with. We did, however, gloss over a lot of material so perhaps the class should be extended to 2 1/2 - 3 days vs. 2 days.
Insightful & useful information!
Well put together class. The information I received has given me a new outlook on my career potential. I am beginning to attempt and to apply these principles of leadership immediately. Thank you for what you do AMA.
"Preparing for Leadership" was a great introduction to many facets of the leadership role. We spent time identifying our own leadership style and discussed ways to adapt our style to best suit the needs of our team and make our teams successful. Very much enjoyed the course and would recommend it.
I found the instructor to be well-experienced, approachable, and professional in the way she conducted the seminar. The content was very useful and relatable to my current (and future) job situation. I came away with some excellent tools - especially how to handle office politics, building influence and how to project the right leadership image.
The class was excellent! We had a brilliant instructor.
The content was very interesting, but I thought it did not always relate to our day to day work, and did not enable us to understand how to take the lead.
This has been my second AMA class i have attended and by far this was the best. Not to say the last one wasn't great but i take in everything that Ive learned the previous class and with the new knowledge from the recent class i took in, i feel twice as knowledgeable. Instructor and the atmosphere were excellent.
Loved the small atmosphere, making for an open communication seminar.
Ann is a great instructor. She got our diverse group working on defining leadership together. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to step from a manager role to a leader role.
"Preparing for Leadereship: What it Takes to Take the Lead" was an exceptional seminar. The leader was very engaging and knowledgeable. She introduced new leadership concepts and behaviors. She also addressed the concepts and behaviors we already knew. I came away with ideas on how to be a more dynamic leader and team player. Thanks!
The leader was very helpful and professional. Helped me to realize my weak points and how to utilize my strong points more effectively
Great course to learn the techniques and implement them right away. The best part was teh role plays in class so that you practice them and get acquainted during the class .
This was a good overview of leadership skills that aspiring leaders can develop. Day One felt a little slow at times, but it really picked up on Day Two.
I am very motivated after taking this training.
Seminar was informative and well presented. It far exceeded my expectations and objectives. The interaction with other attendees was both helpful and interesting as it gave various ideas on the same function. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone that wants to proceed into a leadership role.
The seminar was highly practical and valuable. Ann is an excellent instructor and brings the content 'to life' with real life supporting examples.
The instructor was great. The class provided practical techniques that I can now apply at work.
The class and instructor were on-point for addressing key techniques and objectives for what it takes to move to the next level in leading departments, divisions and/or companies. If you are looking for a class to send someone being groomed for leadership I highly recommend they attend this AMA seminar.
Rob N. W.
This seminar was phenonmenal. I recommend it to any up and coming leader.
This course was very educational and informative. The instructor was very knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed the role playing the instructor engaged us in. Awesome class!
Great instructor. Strong content.
clear and sound
Intructor was very knowledgable and had good suggestions for improvement
Instructor and tech support were incredible. Everything was very well organized. My only complaint was that I wished the virtual class would have allowed for more questions. I think students were a little shy about asking questions.
Excellent course on Leadership. Wish I had taken this course a year ago.
I enjoyed the class very much. I like the instructor who was very friendly. Made it worth it. Thanks.
The teacher, was absolutly great. She kept the classes attention throughout and challenged us to step out and take the lead. I would recommend this class to anyone. The only draw back I observed was the class was condensed into a two day class and could use another day to help with the time constraints.
Enjoyed the content, and the instructor's shared experiences and presentation style. For a class as small as our (5 people) I would prefer more group dialogue and less "partner" discussions so that we can learn as much from each other as possible. Found it most helpful when everyone was encouraged to share real examples from their workplaces so we could discuss/learn as a team.
I really loved the diversity of people attending. The course was very dynamic because of the attendants. The trainer was very nice but used a lot of non relevant examples, quotes and story.Consequence was that we had to rush the second day. We didn't t manage to cover the whole course material and several learning questions stayed unanswered. The materials were outdated. Still the use of video is very outdated. As also the lam of recognition of social mediaI had to pay the course for myself so I expected and wanted quality. Unfortunately I am not satisfied.Although I had a great time with the nice leader and attendants.
