The Controller’s Job in Today’s Environment

Seminar #1206 Classroom
(Read reviews)

Volatile times require corporate controllers to contribute far more to their company’s financial policy. Here’s how to do it.

Your immediate takeaway

• Recognize the controller’s evolving role in businesses
• Get essential skills to safeguard your company’s finances
• Be able to make key decisions impacting organizational success

The role of controller has recently undergone a dramatic paradigm shift in companies of all sizes. The rapid pace of technology has expanded the controller’s duties well beyond collecting and interpreting financial data. While controllers are still responsible for safeguarding their organization’s assets, they are also expected to go beyond the numbers side and be key decision-makers —in effect, making them largely accountable for their company’s success. They must be ready and able to proactively communicate with all levels of the organization, and be able to negotiate and consult with other teams. To be successful in each of these areas, the controller must identify his or her strengths and weaknesses and devise a plan to expand their skills beyond the traditional controller’s role. This seminar will give you specific tools and knowledge so you can confidently perform your job now and in the future.
