Now's the time to learn what’s new in the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Program. A joint government-business initiative, C-TPAT was designed to build cooperative relationships that will strengthen international supply-chain and U.S.-border security.

C-TPAT member-certified importers, carriers, brokers, warehouse operators, and manufacturers work together to ensure the integrity of their security practices, communicate their security guidelines to business partners within the supply chain and verify the guidelines of those partners.

Rennie Alston has provided his professional services in international trade for the past twenty years. He is currently a senior vice president of American River International and president of American River Brokerage Services, Ltd.

He, a licensed customhouse broker, has provided services as a professional educator on topics such as import regulations and documentation, customs entry preparation, customs brokerage license preparation and export compliance at the World Trade Institute at Pace University for the past eighteen years. Previously he, served for nearly a decade providing national customs regulatory expertise to more than twenty-two national brokerage operational facilities, and was the National Customs Brokerage Advisor for Nippon Express USA Inc.

Thomas A. Cook is managing director for NYC–based American River International—a premier international sales and business management consulting company. He has been involved in sales and global business for more than 28 years, and has developed numerous sales management programs and initiatives in training corporate executives in domestic and international sales.

The author of more than 250 articles on international trade, business and sales, Cook has published three books: The Ultimate Guide in Export Management, Mastering Import/Export Management and Post-911 Supply Chain Security, which have become top sellers in the field of global trade.
