Moving beyond the basics covered in COR Level I Training, this hands-on, interactive 5-day course builds on your experience, deepens your understanding of the acquisition process, and takes your skills and capabilities to the next level. It is taught by trainers who have worked as federal CORs and are experienced course leaders. You'll examine each acquisition award step in detail, learn advanced concepts, and fill in knowledge gaps. You will tackle complex issues with case studies on topics such as choosing the right buying process, dealing with contract modifications, and resolving problems with deliverables. You will discuss ethical issues and ways to avoid misconduct, and return to work ready to increase your involvement in more complicated acquisitions.

  • Civilian federal employees working as a Contract Officer’s Representative with one year or more of experience
  • Individuals who work with contract vehicles of moderate to high complexity, including both supply and service contracts 
  • Current Level II CORs who need to fulfill their required 40-hour CLPs (Continuous Learning Points) every two years

Course materials, case studies, role plays, group experiences, and more will relate to the practices of civilian acquisition employees. Developed by instructional design professionals with guidance and review by a former federal Senior Procurement Executive (SPE) with deep experience in managing COR training and development, these courses are mapped to the current FAC-COR Technical Competencies and Performance Outcomes.

Q: What time does my seminar begin and end?

A: On the first morning, please arrive at 8:30 am to pick up your registration packet and room assignment. Seminars begin at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm, except on the last day. On the last day, seminars that run the full day begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:30 pm. Seminars that conclude with half day sessions end at 12:00 pm.

Q: What should I wear?

For Classroom, Live Online, and Webinar programs, you may transfer to a future session, send someone to take your place or cancel without penalty at any time up to three weeks prior to your program. If you provide AMA with less than three weeks notice, or fail to attend, you will be liable for the entire program fee.
