Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) Level I Training

Seminar #9801 Classroom
(Read reviews)

Reviewed and verified by the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) as meeting the training requirements for FAC-COR Level I.

The Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) is a crucial link between the Contracting Officer (CO) and the contractor.  In effect, CORs are the eyes and ears of the contracting officer, ensuring that the work the contracting officer has authorized gets properly done. In order to understand the roles and responsibilities, CORs must know the acquisition process and the various steps, as well as the associated terminology. They must also be aware of ethical considerations when performing their duties. In addition, each COR must recognize certain agency process distinctions. This hands-on course provides the training necessary for FAC-COR Level I certification and provides practical and relevant interactive course material and methodologies. You’ll get an overview of the COR’s responsibilities and explore the entire acquisition process, as well as the agency-specific information you need to know. You’ll leave the workshop with a strong understanding of the Level I COR’s job within the entire acquisition process—and pave the way for your next level of involvement.

Special Feature

AMA COR training has been reviewed and verified by the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) as meeting
the training requirements for FAC-COR Level I.

AMA’s COR Training is open to civilian and military federal employees, as well as individuals working in state and local governments and for the private sector. Unlike other COR training, AMA has designed
its courses using content relevant for individuals working outside of the DoD.

Required for all government employees newly designated as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) FAC-COR policy, issued on September 6, 2011 requires all Contracting Officer’s Representatives to be certified at an appropriate level as of January 1, 2012.

Course materials, case studies, role plays, group experiences and more will relate to the practices of civilian acquisition employees. Developed by instructional design professionals with guidance and review by a former federal Senior Procurement Executive (SPE) with deep experience in managing COR training and development, these courses are mapped to the current FAC-COR Technical Competencies and Performance Outcomes.

Government agencies that wish to purchase these courses may do so through our GSA Federal
Acquisition Service Schedule - Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services (MOBIS) Contract No.
