Overview

Web 2.0 isn't so much about Websites as it is about the online services people use to get things done—usually in collaboration with others. From photo-sharing and business networks to group-edited online reference sources, these tools are changing the way we communicate, solve problems and share solutions around the world.

In order to be successful in this environment, most organizations will need to reformulate and even reinvent how they do business. If this sounds radical, it truly is!

Web 2.0 requires much more than implementing a slick new technology. But right now most organizations are taking a tactical rather than a strategic approach to Web 2.0.

In this informative session, we will take a very practical look at the impact of Web 2.0 on business and your career (even if you're not in marketing or IT!). You'll hear about how the Web will evolve in the next half-decade and ways it will affect you and your business strategies.

What You Will Learn

  • The impact of Web communities on the marketplace and the workplace
  • Four dimensions of online relationship building
  • Why LinkedIn, MySpace and FaceBook are critical to your future career success
  • Six degrees of social computing
  • Easy ways to start using Web 2.0 in your organization
  • And much more!

The discussion will be followed by an interactive session-where we will address specific Web 2.0 issues faced by members of the audience!
