NEW YORK, JUNE 1, 2001American Management
Association (AMA) today named Edward T. Reilly as its new President and
Chief Executive Officer. Reilly will lead the $250 million not-for-profit
organization as it seeks to meet the growing global demand for educational
services. Last year, AMA conducted over 12,000 seminars and served more
than 700,000 business professionals from more than 50 countries. AMAØs
training resources were utilized by 488 of the Fortune 500 companies.
The American Management Association has trained
millions of managers to lead, inspire and grow their companies,
said Edward T. Reilly, President and Chief Executive Officer, American

Prior to joining AMA, Reilly served as President and
Chief Executive Officer of Big Flower Holdings, Inc. (now Vertis, Inc.),
a leading provider of integrated marketing and advertising services. Under
ReillyØs four-year leadership, revenues at Big Flower Holdings increased
from approximately $1 billion to nearly $1.9 billion.
Before joining Big Flower Holdings, Reilly spent nearly
30 years with the Broadcast and Book Publishing groups of The McGraw-Hill
Companies, a leading publishing and communications company. Among his
many positions, Reilly served as the Executive Vice President of McGraw-Hill
International Book Company and served as President of McGraw-Hill Broadcasting
from 1987 to 1996.
During his distinguished career in the television industry,
Reilly served as the Chairman of the Television Bureau of Advertising
and as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association
of Broadcasters. He also served as Chairman of the Association for Maximum
Service Television (MSTV), a trade association of more than 300 leading
television stations, which has been at the forefront of the effort to
facilitate the industry's transition to digital broadcasting. Reilly is
a Director of Benedek Broadcasting Corporation, which owns 23 network
affiliated television stations throughout the U.S., and a Director of
iVillage, Inc., the leading Internet portal specializing in womens
issues. He has also been a board member of the Advertising Council for
eight years and is its incoming chairman.
Reilly holds a BBA in Marketing and Finance from St.
Francis College and attended the Stanford Executive Program. He is a member
of the Board of the National Council of La Raza, a premier Hispanic civil
rights group in the U.S., and is a Trustee of Lynchburg College in Virginia
.
