NEW YORK, March 16, 2004—American Management
Association, the world’s leading membership-based management education
and development organization, announced today that it has launched a new
Website designed to assist executives in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology
and other healthcare fields address the management issues affecting their
industries. The PharmaFocus Website has been created in response to the
specific management training needs of these industries.
“AMA’s PharmaFocus Website and a supplementary
e-newsletter provide the mix of resources executives in these industries
need to manage people and their businesses more effectively,” said
Pat Leonard, AMA’s Executive Vice President of U.S. Management Education.
“AMA has provided training to many leaders in the healthcare fields,
including Wyeth, Novartis, Pfizer, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, among many
others. These new communication initiatives are in response to the training
needs of AMA’s members and customers in the healthcare fields.”
The PharmaFocus Website covers a wide range of topics,
including company case studies, exclusive interviews with key industry
players, expert perspectives and practical tips on a variety of management
and training topics. It also includes up-to-date information about AMA
seminars, conferences, forums and briefings of specific interest to these
executives and links to relevant AMA events, original research, online
resources and special offers.
To assist in this endeavor, AMA will create an advisory
board of industry leaders, including corporate executives, HR professionals,
authors and consultants. The advisory board will ensure the editorial
content of the PharmaFocus Website and e-newsletter reflects the latest
industry trends and critical issues.
The PharmaFocus Website is accessible from AMA’s
homepage at www.amanet.org and the companion e-newsletter is free via
e-mail for subscribers.
