NEW YORK, August 8, 2000
Peter Brunold, a seasoned trade show producer, business developer, and
sales and marketing executive, has been appointed to the newly-created
position of Vice President, Global Conferences and Special Events at American
Management Association. In that capacity, he will establish strategy for
and supervise AMAs extensive program of major management education
conferences in the United States, Europe, and throughout the world, as
well as its annual program of dozens of regional executive, forums on
topical business subjects.
Mr. Brunold has decades of experience directing
sales programs, launching new product lines, and producing major trade
shows and conferences on topics ranging from high tech to public safety.
Prior to joining AMA, Mr. Brunold served as group
vice president at Cygnus Expositions in Melville, New York. He was responsible
for the production of four trade shows, developed new conferences, and
personally managed all top client and vendor relationships.
Mr. Brunold also brings international expertise
to his new position. In 1991-92, he served as show director for Network
Europe based in Frankfurt, Germany. In an earlier sales management position,
he worked to attract foreign exhibitors to U.S. events, and built a global
sales agents network. He is fluent in English, German, and French.
Mr. Brunolds education includes degrees
earned in communications (University of Denver), business administration
(Cantonal School of Commerce, Switzerland) and English (University of
Cambridge, England).
Mr. Brunold, based at AMAs headquarters
in New York, will report to Lawrence I. Geneen, AMAs Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer.
AMA, the world leader in management training and

8th Annual Conference for Executive Secretaries and Administrative
Assistants which will attract 2000 attendees to Washington, D.C., September
24-27. Major human resources conferences are planned for the United States,
Europe, and Latin America in 2001.

year. In the next few months there will be sessions on Corporate Branding
(Atlanta, 10/4-5 and Pasadena, 11/8-9), Cause Marketing (New York, 10/26-27),
Crisis Management (San Francisco, 11/9-10, and New York, 11/13-14) and
Managing Application Service Providers (San Francisco, 11/29-30).
Management Centre Europe, AMAs European
division in Brussels, also hosts numerous meetings, including Purchasing
and Supply Chain Management (9/28-29), International Financial Services
(10/11-12) and International Pharmaceuticals (11/23-24).
