AMA’s Membership Website—MWorld—Now Relaunched as an Interactive Portal with Convenient “Channels Format,” All-new Content, plus a New Spanish Executives Channel

September 12, 2000—American Management Association (AMA) has completely redesigned its Membership website, MWorld, relaunching it as a web portal. The site now consists of a selection of user-friendly “channels” that cover a wide range of management and career development topics. The website will soon be customizable and will include portal features such as news, weather, and stock information. MWorld, which is globally accessible by AMA corporate, executive, and professional members, is located at www.mworld.org.

“MWorld’s new format will provide our members with a virtual doorway to more robust content, along with AMA’s comprehensive array of resources," said Lynn Johnston, Managing Director of Membership. "We’re especially pleased to introduce MWorld’s new Spanish Executives channel, which will bring together AMA members from Mexico, Spain, Latin America, and North America to share their experiences and insights speaking in Spanish. As our world keeps getting smaller and smarter, it is truly an exciting time to be a member of AMA."

Featured highlights of the new MWorld portal include:

"Virtual Viewpoints." Provocative "op-ed" perspectives from management experts, including long-time Management Review columnist Oren Harari, author and Financial Times columnist Stuart Crainer, and the "The Weathersby Report" by AMA president and CEO George Weathersby.

"MR-Online." Concise weekly summaries of business and management news from around the world.

Four "Connections" Channels, each targeted to a special interest group (Management, HR/Training Professionals, Administrative Professionals, and Spanish Executives) and including a "Took Kit," self-assessments, case files, web links, reading resources, and an interactive forum.

Plus, the latest information on AMA’s seminars, e-learning products, research reports, publications, conferences, and special events.

MWorld is also the place for members to keep updated on the latest membership benefits and enhancements — like last-minute discounts on registration for selective AMA seminars — and additions to AMA’s Advantage Program, where members receive great deals on business products and services.

"Today’s world moves so incredibly fast no business or organization can afford to stand still," observed Johnston. "We’re committed to harnessing the speed and global reach of the Internet to provide our members with the information and lifelong learning tools they need to thrive in the 21st century.”
