American Management Association Introduces Forums on Current Issues in Finance

“Innovations in Capital Financing and Management” to Be Offered June 14”

NEW YORK, April 11, 2001— American Management Association (AMA) is offering a series of one-day forums on current issues in finance to help senior financial executives compete more aggressively in today’s constantly evolving and fast, changing business environment. The first forum, Innovations in Capital Financing and Management, will be held on June 14, 2001, in AMA’s Executive Conference Center, 1601 Broadway, in New York City .

“These new forums supplement the dozens of finance seminars offered annually by the American Management Association,” said Jim Hudick, financial management practice leader for AMA. “We are responding to the current business conditions with timely forums to meet the needs of financial executives across all industries.”

Each forum will include presentations, expert panel discussions and case studies that provide solutions, best practices and real-life experiences designed to keep attendees one step ahead of the competition. The programs will offer the vital insights, strategies and tactics to address financial challenges. Leading financial experts will discuss timely topics including private equity as capital alternatives, developing new capital models to drive creation of shareholder value, and global trends, analysis and opportunities in today’s economy.

Daniel Donoghue, managing director and co-head, Mergers and Acquisitions, U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, will open the forum with an address on “Envisioning Reality: Taking What Is and Transforming It into What You Want It to Be.” Neal Pomroy, vice president, Financial Services Group, Mercer Management Consulting, will deliver the keynote address on “Creating Value in Uncertain Times: It’s the Best Time to Strengthen Your Strategic Position.”

Industry experts from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Lehman Brothers, Pharmacia Corporation, The Shattan Group, and U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, are among those participating in the panel discussions.
