NEW YORK, November 1, 2000American Management
Association (AMA) today announced its receipt of a contract under Federal
Supply Schedule 874, the Management, Organizational and Business Improvement
Services (MOBIS) schedule. The MOBIS contract establishes AMA as an approved,
direct vendor of management development and training products to the federal
government, independent agencies, government corporations, and the District
of Columbia. The contract was awarded by the General Services Administration
(GSA) and is slated to run through September 26, 2005.
The MOBIS contract is designed to help federal agencies
improve the training and development of their workforces, as well as to
meet the demands of numerous federal mandates and initiatives that call
for the streamlining of government services processes, such as the Government
Performance and Results Act and the National Partnership for Reinvention.
Under AMAs MOBIS contract, agencies may purchase
any of 61 AMA seminars and a variety of on-site training solutions through
a streamlined procurement process that simplifies the way federal agencies
make purchases. Public seminar and on-site seminar customers will receive
14% and 9% discounts on purchases, respectively.
Winning a MOBIS contract is a positive step for
AMA and federal agencies, stated Peter Nagrod, Executive Director
of Government Services for AMA. It helps AMAs current and
potential government customers gain easier, more efficient, more cost-effective
access to a wide portfolio of some of the most popular and recognized
management development courses in the U.S. At the same time, it allows
AMA to strengthen and expand our relationships with existing and potential
customers.
With the GSA MOBIS contract, American Management Associations
public and on-site training offerings are well positioned to enable government
agencies to improve performance, quality, timeliness and efficiency throughout
their organizations. AMA training includes executive leadership, management
and team development, strategic planning, and communications, finance
and administrative skills.
AMAs Government Services offerings may be by visiting
www.amanet.org or by calling
