AMA and Corpedia Announce New e-Learning Partnership

Will share and develop new management training content under
AMA-Corpedia brand

NEW YORK, August 9, 2000—American Management Association (AMA) and Corpedia LLC today announced that they have teamed up to offer online learning opportunities to senior executives, managers, and their teams, as well as the more than 220,000 corporate and individual members of AMA. AMA and Corpedia will offer co-branded and co-developed courses in areas ranging from general management and sales to business etiquette. The partnership leverages AMA's management content and experience and Corpedia's innovative technology.

AMA and Corpedia will utilize AMA's curriculum of management development seminars to co-develop up to 200 online courses. In the coming months, they will release twenty-five general management and professional effectiveness courses.

Through the AMA-Corpedia co-brand, existing AMA members and customers will also enjoy access to a broad range of current Corpedia offerings. Written by Corpedia's exclusive and internationally recognized faculty, these include Drucker on Management, a ten course, e-learning series created by world-renowned management consultant and educator Dr. Peter F. Drucker. In addition to its existing sales, management, and legal compliance courses, Corpedia is in the process of developing forty more courses written by such respected authorities as The W. Edwards Deming Institute and Brian Tracy.

“Through our partnership with Corpedia, AMA now offers high quality, online learning at home and at work,” said Bob Fraulo, senior vice president of AMA's Corporate Learning Services division. “Online learning offers our corporate customers great opportunities for delivering consistent, just-in-time training to large groups of employees. Through this partnership AMA will maintain its leadership in global management development education."

The AMA-Corpedia offerings enable users to learn anytime, anywhere. The only requirement is a computer with Internet access. The audio-and-graphics-rich e-learning courses average 20-45 minutes in length, and are self-paced and highly interactive.

Corpedia's CEO Alex Brigham said, “AMA's strong reputation and expertise as a management training organization will add value to our expanding Internet knowledge library and introduce our products to a large, new audience.”
