NEW YORK, June 18, 2004—American
Management Association (AMA) announced today that Teresa
E. McCaslin, executive vice president, Human Resources and
Information Systems of ContiGroup Companies, Inc., was elected
chair of AMA’s Board of Trustees during its 81st Annual
Meeting. McCaslin succeeds William K. Slate, II, president
and CEO of the American Arbitration Association, who served
as chair since 2001. Sir Paul Judge, chair of the Isoworth
Group, London, U.K., was elected vice chair of AMA’s
Board.
Ms. McCaslin has served on AMA’s Board since 1997,
where she is a member of the Compensation and Benefits Committee,
Finance and Executive Committee and Investment Committee.
She is also a member of AMA’s Human Resources Council.
Ms. McCaslin is executive vice president, Human Resources
and Information Systems of ContiGroup Companies, Inc., formerly
Continental Grain Company, a privately held international
agribusiness company headquartered in New York. In her current
position, Ms. McCaslin heads worldwide Human Resources,
Labor Relations, Information Technology, Public Affairs,
and Corporate Aircraft operations at ContiGroup. She is
also a member of the company’s Management Committee.
Ms. McCaslin joined ContiGroup as senior vice president,
Human Resources in 1997, and became executive vice president
in 1999. Prior to ContiGroup, she served as corporate vice
president, Human Resources and as a member of the Executive
Management Committee at Monsanto. She earlier worked for
Avery-Dennison in Pasadena, California, and the Grow Group
in New York. From 1978 to 1984, she held human resources
positions with Continental Grain in New York.
Also during AMA’s Annual Meeting,
the following members were re-elected for three-year terms
to the Board of Trustees: Peter W. Bruce, chief insurance
officer, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company; Gordon
J. Feeney, former vice chair, Royal Bank of Canada; Richard
C. Kimball, president, Memorials Division, Rock of Ages;
Don E. Marsh, chairman, president and CEO, Marsh Supermarkets,
Inc.; and Barry L. Williams, president, Williams Pacific
Ventures, Inc.
