NEW YORK, June 28, 2004—American
Management Association, the world’s leading membership-based
management education and development organization, is now
an approved provider of re-certification credits for the
Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCISM). HRCI, the
credentialing organization founded by the Society for Human
Resource Management, has approved six AMA seminars for continuing
education credits towards three levels of certification:
Professional in Human Resources (PHR®), Senior Professional
in Human Resources (SPHRSM) and Global Professional in Human
Resources (GPHR™).
The six AMA seminars approved for HRCI re-certification
are “How
to Write an Affirmative Action Plan,” “Recruiting, Interviewing, and Selecting Employees,” “Fundamentals of HR Management,” “Planning and Managing Organizational Change,” “Total Rewards Management” and “AMA’s
Employment Law Course: Avoiding the Legal Pitfalls of EEO,
FMLA and ADA.”
These programs are offered at AMA Executive Conference Centers
in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington,
D.C., and at other locations around the country. AMA has
received approval for three years to provide HRCI credits
toward re-certification.
To maintain PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification, HRCI requires
all eligible professionals to re-certify every three years
either by accumulating 60 educational hours through continuing
education, instruction, on-the-job experience, research
and publishing, leadership activities or membership in a
national-level HR organization or by retaking the examination.
AMA’s six seminars are now approved for continuing
education credits.
