AMA Faculty
AMA currently has over 500 U.S. faculty members teaching open-enrollment seminars and on-site workshops. With extensive experience, expertise, and education, AMA faculty provide a truly valuable learning environment.
Selection Process for AMA Faculty
AMA has a five-stage faculty selection process, conducted jointly by faculty management and portfolio managers. This comprehensive process ensures that AMA seminars are led by the most experienced, knowledgeable business practitioners. The process is highly selective. Overall, only 10% of all applicants are selected to join AMA’s faculty.
Selection Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate:
- At least 10 years of real-world business experience
- Expertise in their discipline
- Training experience utilizing interactive, adult learning theories.
- An exceptional educational background. Most AMA faculty members have at least a master’s degree, and 15-20% hold a doctoral degree.
Faculty Development and Standards
Before teaching a course, new faculty members are required to audit the course that they will teach. This provides an in-depth review of the course content from a participant’s perspective, and it passes on best teaching practices from seasoned faculty members.
Participants evaluate and rate the faculty members at the end of each seminar. AMA faculty management continually monitors these evaluations in order to immediately address any performance issues.
Additional Selection Process for Faculty of On-Site Workshops
