American Management Association (AMA), a world leader in professional development and performance-based learning solutions, has completed a $1 million renovation project to its Executive Conference Center in Atlanta located in The Proscenium at 1170 Peachtree and 14th Street.
“American Management Association has operated an Executive Conference Center in Atlanta for more than 30 years, and this new investment illustrates our commitment to the city and the region’s business community,” said Edward T. Reilly, AMA’s president and CEO. “Last year in Atlanta, AMA provided more than 200 public seminars for managers and other professionals with nearly 65% of our customers traveling from outside of Georgia, helping to stimulate the local economy.”
The renovations include a series of technology upgrades as well as physical and aesthetic improvements to the 23,000-square-foot facility. The project, which began December 16, 2011, and was completed March 8, 2012, features enhancements to its meeting rooms, business center, bookstore, lounges, and other common areas.
The center has 10 meeting rooms and three break-out rooms with state-of-the-art touch-screen technology, projection equipment, and Bose® sound system. It also includes WiFi Internet connectivity. There is new flooring, carpeting, and ceramic tile throughout; LCD digital televisions in the lounges; as well as new countertops and cabinets in the refreshment area. The facility can accommodate meetings for 15 to 120 people and is available to external clients.
In 2011, more than 2,100 professionals from all 50 states and 20 countries attended AMA’s public seminars held in Atlanta, bringing business to area hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment establishments. In addition, AMA hosted meetings for 50 private clients and an additional 2,000 individuals locally last year.
With the completion of the renovation, AMA is increasing the 2012 Atlanta public seminar schedule by nearly 20%. This increase provides more opportunities for Georgia residents and travelers to the area to experience the value of AMA training to enhance their professional careers.
AMA relocated its Executive Conference Center to its current location in 2001. It’s situated nine miles from Hartsfield International Airport and one block from the Arts Center Station stop on MARTA, Atlanta’s commuter transit system.
In addition to Atlanta, AMA and its global network have Executive Conference Centers in Arlington, VA, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Brussels, Toronto, Mexico City, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, and Istanbul.
